Nature’s Recyclers

This afternoon it was warm and sunny with signs of spring everywhere so we decided to head outside in search of nature’s recyclers. After heading down a little path beside the parking lot, we broke into small groups in a part of the woods the kids had never really noticed to closely examine old decaying logs for signs of life. Although the logs were interesting to study, everyone found the most exciting part was when we rolled them over to see who lived underneath. Soon the magnifying boxes came out and all sorts of insects were closely examined and shared.
